Scholarships
MBBS/PhD Scholarship(s) are available to medical students intending to undertake an approved course of advanced study and research at The University of Western Australia, in accordance with the Conditions governing these Scholarships. The Scholarships are offered jointly by the Raine Medical Research Foundation and the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry and provide a grant to cover the research component of the MBBS/PhD course of study.
This Scholarship is subject to Faculty approval of the candidate’s application for admission to candidature for the combined degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, and Doctor of Philosophy (90150/00850), in accordance with Combined Course Rules 11.2.1, University General Rules 1.3.1 (General Provisions for Research Higher Degrees) and 1.3.3 (Additional Provisions for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy).
The value of each Scholarship, normally in line with The University of Western Australia Postgradaute Scholarships, is currently $25,427 per year, and shall be tenable for up to two full-time research years of the course.
Applications Forms are available from the Raine Foundation administrative office or the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, however, intending candidates are advised to first contact the Senior Faculty Administrative Officer to discuss their application for admission to candidature for the degree.
